IDIA M. MARTÍNEZ TORRES, M. A.

Founder and president

Idia Martínez is a licensed public relations professional, consultant, speaker, and mentor in media management, public speaking skills, customer experience, and development of professional brands. She has a bachelor’s degree in Public Communication from the University of Puerto Rico; a master’s degree in Communication, with a minor in Public Relations, from the University of the Sacred Heart; and a certification as Professional Customer Experience Design and Management, from the International Customer Service Association, Latin America. Additionally, she is a member of the Association of Public Relations Professionals Puerto Rico (ARPPR, by its Spanish acronym), and of the International Federation of Speaker Women.

She has taught communication courses in the University of the Sacred Heart, the Rio Piedras campus of the University of Puerto Rico, and the University of Turabo.

She has been a speaker at the Inter American Congress of Public Relations in Varadero (2002) and in Havana (2019), in Cuba, in several editions of the Association of Public Relations Professionals Puerto Rico’s Convention; in the International Public Relations Society of America’s Conference, in San Diego, California (2019); in Animus, San Juan (2019), and in the SME Sales Summit (2022), among other events.

Is author of the book Y ahora… ¿qué digo? (What do I say now?, 2019), which provides tools for organizational leaders, public figures and influencers to manage media interviews and social media interviews more effectively. She is also cofounder of Shine Business & Professional Women, a platform to educate and inspire businesswomen and professional women.

She was president of the Association of Public Relations Professionals of Puerto Rico during 2001-2022 and 2007-2008, and member of the Puerto Rico Public Relations Professionals Regulating Board from 2012 to 2015.

Recipient of multiple awards, among which the following stand out: five Excel awards and the 2010 Distinguished Public Relations Professional award, granted by the ARPPR; and the 2018 Top Management Award in Public Relations, awarded by the Sales and Marketing Executives Association.

 

MARIA DE LOURDES BURGOS

Accounts Executive

With a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico and a master’s in Communications, with a major in Public Relations from the Sacred Heart University, Burgos authored the thesis “Uses of Public Relations Strategies by Attorneys of Public Officials”.

Co-founder of SHINE Business & Professional Women, Burgos is also a part-time professor at the Sacred Heart University and teaches several continued education courses for public relations professionals at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus. In 2022, she designed the talk “Happiness as a Communication Strategy”, for supervisors of public and private entities.

In 2019, she was appointed by the Puerto Rico Governor to a four-year term as member of the Public Relations Professionals Regulating Board. Burgos is also past president of the Association of Public Relations Professionals of Puerto Rico (ARPPR, by its Spanish acronym). As ARPPR member, she directed the 2009 Convention Committee, as well as the Ethics Committee in 2007, 2008, and 2010; and the Regulation Committee that worked on the last phase related to the regulation of the practice of public relations in Puerto Rico. In 2015, she stood out as main juror of ARPPR’s EXCEL awards.

Burgos herself is the recipient of four EXCEL awards in the categories of Public Service Campaigns, Empirical Investigation, and Community Relations Programs.

 

MARCOS ANDRÉ ROSARIO

Audiovisual Producer

Rosario holds a bachelor’s degree from Emerson College, Boston, in 2019, and has worked as scriptwriter in Noche Ilegal (Illegal Night), a program broadcasted by WAPA TV.

He has been producer and director of corporate, promotional, and musical videos, as well as creator of audiovisual content for social media.

His name features in the production credits of three EXCEL award-winning pieces, granted by the Association of Public Reltions Professionals of Puerto Rico in the Public Service Campaign category. Additionally, Rosario won second place in the short film contest Házlo Bien (Do It Right), held by the HIV Treaters Medical Association of Puerto Rico.
